• Descrizione: 4-Chloro-5-cyanopyrimidine is an antimicrobial agent that has been shown to be bactericidal against pyogenes and staphylococcus. 4-Chloro-5-cyanopyrimidine also has inhibitory effects on tuberculosis, inhibiting the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by binding to DNA and RNA synthesis. 4-Chloro-5-cyanopyrimidine is not active against other types of bacteria, such as subtilis or trichophyton. The bactericidal concentration for this drug is dependent on the strain of bacteria, but can range from 0.1 to 100 µg/mL.
