Descrizione

Crocetin is an all-trans retinoic acid that is found in gardenia. It has been shown to have neuroprotective effects and can be used as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease. Crocetin is also effective against cancer and can be used to treat other diseases, such as Parkinson's disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Crocetin has been shown to have teratogenic properties and should not be taken by pregnant women. The mechanism of action of crocetin is not well known, but it may act through reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, which can cause cell death. Crocetin has been shown to increase the activity of carotenoid enzymes and can be used as a dietary supplement for its antioxidant properties.
