It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol by competitively inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. 4-Cyclohexylaniline also inhibits the production of estrogen, which may be due to its ability to inhibit aromatase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of androgens into estrogens.
