Descrizione

Caulophyllogenin is a natural compound that has been shown to have significant cytotoxic effects in various cancer cell lines. Caulophyllogenin was found to inhibit the growth of human lung carcinoma cells (HL-60) and also showed strong inhibition of influenza virus replication in vitro. This alkaloid has been shown to bind to the progesterone receptor, which may be responsible for its biological properties. It is also known as a steroid alkaloid, which are compounds that contain a benzene ring with two carbons replaced by oxygen atoms and two hydroxyl groups on adjacent carbons. These compounds have been reported to have anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and antiviral activities.
