Descrizione:Edoxaban is an oral anticoagulant that inhibits thrombin, which is the main factor in the coagulation process. It has been shown to be effective for the prevention of atrial fibrillation and thromboembolism. The drug was also found to be safe and effective in a clinical trial of patients with atrial fibrillation who had undergone cardioversion. Edoxaban does not interact with other drugs, but may increase bleeding risk when combined with drugs such as warfarin. The drug has been shown to decrease levels of natriuretic peptides, which are hormones that help regulate blood pressure and fluid volume.
