Mepronil is a fungicidal compound that belongs to the class of ethylene diamine. It is a hydrogen-bond acceptor, which has been shown to inhibit the growth of wild-type strains of fungi and resistant mutants. Mepronil's anti-cancer properties are due to its ability to bind with DNA and form a polymeric matrix with mitochondria. This prevents the production of ATP, leading to cell death.
