4,8-Dichloroquinoline is a quinoline derivative that is used to treat various types of cancer. It inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which are inflammatory mediators. 4,8-Dichloroquinoline also inhibits lipoxygenases and has been shown to have anticancer activity. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro by inhibiting DNA synthesis and cell division. It is also known to cause eye disorders such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
