2,3-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)toluene is an organic compound that has the chemical formula CHClF. It is a colorless liquid with a sweet smell. 2,3-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)toluene can be used as a solvent and as a reactant in the production of other chemicals. It reacts with alkali to produce 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dihydrobenzoquinone and hydrogen gas. It reacts with aluminum to produce 2,3-dichloroaluminum chloride and hydrogen gas. This substance also reacts with halide to produce 2,3-dichlorohalogenated alkenes and hydrogen gas.
