• Descrizione: 1,1-Dimethyl-2-morpholin-4-ylethylamine (DMMEA) is a quaternary ammonium compound that has antimicrobial properties. DMMEA is an analog of 1,1-dimethylpiperidinium chloride and is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds. It can be synthesized from 1,1,2-trimethoxyethane and morpholine in the presence of ammonium chloride. DMMEA has been shown to have antimicrobial activities against Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Enterobacter aerogenes. It also has some activity against Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus.
