Descrizione:9,10-Dihydroanthracene-9-carboxylic acid is a carboxylic acid. It can be synthesized by two methods. The first method involves the electroreduction of anthracene with a constant current of one amp over a period of 8 hours. The second method involves the electrolysis of 9,10-dihydroanthracene in an aqueous solution using a platinum anode and cathode and a constant voltage of 1.2 volts for 12 hours. This process produces hydrogen gas as well as 9,10-dihydroanthracene-9-carboxylic acid. 9,10-Dihydroanthracene-9-carboxylic acid is soluble in nonpolar solvents and has high yield. It reacts with proton to form anions that are supercritical and has been used in the synthesis of anion exchange resins.
