This compound is an organometallic compound that contains bromine and nitrogen atoms. 2,5-DBP is soluble in organic solvents such as trifluoroacetic acid and acetonitrile. 2,5-DBP decomposes at temperatures above 150°C to yield water and organic acids. This substance has a magnetic resonance spectroscopy signal at 3 ppm due to the presence of nitrogen atoms.
