It has been shown to be efficient in reducing the levels of angiotensin II and angiotensin III in vitro and in vivo. 2,5-Dimethylpyrimidin-4-amine is also effective against skin cancer cells, which are resistant to most chemotherapeutic drugs. It has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting transcription and protein synthesis through its effects on nuclear factor kappaB (NFκB).
