Doxazosin hydrochloride is an insoluble polymer that is lipophilic and acid-labile. It has been synthesized, and it has been shown to have a profile of activity against infectious diseases. Doxazosin hydrochloride has been shown to be effective in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and congestive heart failure. This drug may also be used to treat systolic blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Doxazosin hydrochloride is soluble in a polymeric matrix that provides sustained release of the drug over a period of time.
