2,6-Dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone is a phenolic compound that has been found to have potential use in the treatment of infertility. It is extracted from plant materials using an acetate extract. This extract can be further purified by techniques such as allophylus and mass spectrometric analysis. The structure of 2,6-dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone has been determined by spectrometric and magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques. It was also found to inhibit the enzyme a-type lignin peroxidase (LPO) in vitro.
