Descrizione:Disodium cocoamphodiacetate is a surfactant that can be used as an antimicrobial agent. It is also a component of the analytical method for measuring fatty acids in plant material. Disodium cocoamphodiacetate has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Disodium cocoamphodiacetate does not interact with the hydroxyl group of the fatty acid, but reacts with the acidic hydrogen on the carboxyl group, which leads to oxidation and degradation of the molecule. Disodium cocoamphodiacetate can be used for wastewater treatment and as an oxidation catalyst in organic synthesis.
