It has been used to analyze the sequence of amino acids in proteins and for kinetic parameters in enzymes. DLPC is hydrophobic and interacts with other molecules through hydrophobic interactions. It has been used to study the sequence of genomic DNA in Indian populations, as well as to study the effects of fatty acids on protein structure. DLPC has a molecular mass of 323 Da and is an anion that can act as a substrate for many enzymes.
