3,3-Dimethyl-1-butyne is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2=CHCH2CH3. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in most organic solvents and reacts readily with air. 3,3-Dimethyl-1-butyne is a reaction intermediate that can be synthesized from cyclopentene oxide. The molecule has an acidic hydrogen atom on the methyl group and a nucleophilic hydrogen atom on the butyl group.
