3,3'-Dibromo-2,2'-bithiophene is a monomer that has an absorption maximum at 440 nm. Cyclic voltammetry of 3,3'-dibromo-2,2'-bithiophene has been used to study its electrochemical properties. This monomer polymerizes with ethylene to form a copolymer. The copolymers formed have been studied using atomic force microscopy and optical properties analysis. Copolymers also show interesting morphological features such as the presence of micropores and mesopores.
