Descrizione:N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET) is a coumarin derivative that is used as an insect repellent. It is the most commonly used insect repellent in the world. DEET has been shown to be safe for use by humans and animals at low doses. The LD50 of DEET in rats is greater than 2000 mg/kg. However, toxicological studies have shown that DEET can cause neurological damage in mice at high doses. This product has been found to be effective against mosquitoes and other insects, but not ticks or chiggers. In addition, it has been found to inhibit leukemia inhibitory factor activity in human cells.
