1,4-Diphenoxybenzene is a protonated compound with analytical application. It can be used as a probe to study the uptake of mda-mb-231 breast cancer cells in vitro. The nmr spectra of 1,4-diphenoxybenzene show that it is a diphenyl ether and ferrocenecarboxylic acid. This chemical has been shown to react with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid in the presence of supercritical carbon dioxide to produce an organic compound. The reaction mechanism for this process has been studied using molecular modeling techniques, revealing that the reaction proceeds by initial formation of an intermediate carbocation followed by deprotonation.
