Descrizione

2,6-Diaminoanthraquinone is an intermolecular hydrogen bonding compound that has been used as a building block in the synthesis of polymers. It can be reduced to 2,6-dihydroxyanthraquinone with borohydride and is known for its anticancer activity. The functional groups on the molecule are electron donating and can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules through intermolecular interactions. These interactions lead to fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) where electrons are transferred from one molecule to another, leading to a decrease in fluorescence lifetime.
