2,6-Dihydroxyanthraquinone is a natural compound that has been shown to have antioxidant properties. This compound can react with hydrogen ions in water to form hydroxyanthraquinone, which is responsible for the inhibition of enzymes. 2,6-Dihydroxyanthraquinone has been used as a catalyst in palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions and as a chemical stabilizer in organic synthesis.
