Descrizione:N,N-Dimethyl-1-naphthylamine is an organic compound that is used in the synthesis of a variety of other compounds. N,N-Dimethyl-1-naphthylamine can be synthesized by reacting naphthalene with methylene chloride and acetonitrile. The major application of this compound is in the preparation of stable complexes that are used as model systems for nucleophilic reactions. N,N-Dimethyl-1-naphthylamine has been shown to react with protonated amines to form stable complexes that are resistant to degradation by water or acidic conditions. This chemical also reacts with methoxy groups on amines to form stable complexes. Urine samples were analyzed for the presence of N,N-dimethyl-1-naphthylamine using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
