Descrizione:4,6-Dichloronicotinic acid is a metabolic product of nitrosamines that has been shown to inhibit the growth of organisms in high concentrations. It has been shown to regulate the carbon source and nature of cells, as well as being pleiotropic in its effects. 4,6-Dichloronicotinic acid is an inhibitor of synthetase and inhibits the biosynthesis of antibiotics. The bacteria are resistant to this compound at low concentrations. These molecules have been found in high concentrations in polluted environments such as sewage and rice paddies. 4,6-Dichloronicotinic acid has been shown to be cytotoxic to populations of marine invertebrates such as Crassostrea
