Descrizione:4,5-Diphenylimidazole is an antimicrobial agent that binds to the bacterial cell wall and inhibits the synthesis of polysaccharides. This drug has been shown to be effective against a variety of bacteria including Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Enterococcus faecalis. 4,5-Diphenylimidazole has been tested in clinical studies for the treatment of allergic symptoms caused by antibiotic drugs such as penicillin. It works by binding to the trifluoromethyl group and reacting with metal ions to form metal chelates. The antibacterial properties are due to the formation of reactive oxygen species that lead to oxidative stress in bacterial cells.
