cis-2,6-Dimethylpiperidine is a crystalline compound that belongs to the group of pyrimidine compounds. It has been used as a receptor ligand in studies to investigate the binding site of various pharmacological agents on the receptor. cis-2,6-Dimethylpiperidine has also been used as a nanofin for ethylene diamine transport and hiv infection. cis-2,6-Dimethylpiperidine is soluble in carbon disulphide, but insoluble in diethyl ether or methanol. The melting point is 110°C and boiling point is 175°C. cis-2,6-Dimethylpiperidine has an octanol/water partition coefficient of 3.7 at pH 7.4 and 2.8 at pH 5, indicating hydrophobic properties.END>>
