Descrizione:4,4'-Diamyloxyazoxybenzene is a symmetrical molecule. It has been synthesized by the reaction of 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether with azobenzene and subsequent reduction of the resulting amine. The crystal structure of this compound has been determined using X-ray diffraction methods. The orientational order parameter was determined to be 0.824 using Raman spectroscopy. This value corresponds to a nematic phase, which is seen in many liquid crystals.
