Dimethyl 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylate is a chemical that has been used to study chronic viral hepatitis. It is known to have an effect on the nuclear DNA and signal pathways, which are involved in the regulation of energy metabolism. Dimethyl 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylate has been shown to have hepatoprotective properties by protecting against hepatic steatosis and hepatocarcinogenesis in mice.
