1,4-Dioxan-2-one is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of inorganic compounds. It has been shown that 1,4-dioxan-2-one reacts with ethylene oxide to give polyoxymethylene ethers, which are thermoplastic polymers. The reaction is promoted by metathesis reactions and polymerization catalysis.
