Descrizione:3,4-Dibromotoluene is a natural product that can be synthesized from the reaction of bromine and toluene. The pharmacophore is a group of atoms or groups that make up the molecular structure of an organic compound and which are responsible for its biological activity. 3,4-Dibromotoluene has been shown to have antifungal activity in vitro against Candida albicans (C. albicans) and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae). In addition, 3,4-dibromotoluene can be used as a ligand in cross-coupling reactions to form new compounds with different functional groups. This synthetic method is catalytic and the yields are high when compared to other methods. Kinetic data has been obtained for ketoconazole inhibition of C. albicans at various concentrations of 3,4-dibromotoluene
