• Descrizione: 2,3-Dibromobutyric acid is an amide that has been used as a binding agent for aziridines, carbonyl groups and organic solvents. It has also been used to form heat resistant polymers containing carboxylic acid groups. The compound is resistant to formic acid and piperidine, and can be used as a precursor for amines. 2,3-Dibromobutyric acid has shown antibiotic activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This compound was also found to have antibacterial properties against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
