Dipsacoside B is a triterpenoid saponin that has been shown to have cytotoxic effects on human skin cancer cells and inhibit the growth of bacteria. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as an antimicrobial agent. Dipsacoside B is extracted from the plant Lonicera japonica and is present in the fruit, bark, leaves, and flowers of this plant. The major component of the extract is diosphenol A, which accounts for 75% of its content. Dipsacoside B has been shown to possess anti-cancer activity by inducing apoptosis in leukemia cancer cells. It also inhibits tumor invasion and metastasis in vitro and in vivo.
