Informazioni sul prodotto
3,5-Difluorosalicylaldehyde is an organic compound that belongs to the class of unsymmetrical compounds. It has a redox potential of -0.77 V and is a strong reducing agent. 3,5-Difluorosalicylaldehyde can be used to prepare 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde through a cycloaddition reaction with an imine, which is then converted into organometallic complexes with fluorine. 3,5-Difluorosalicylaldehyde can also be used as an antibacterial agent against Staphylococcus and against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The nitrogen atoms in the molecule are responsible for its antibacterial activity. The hydrated form of this molecule shows X-ray diffraction pattern that is characteristic of crystals with space group P21/c or P21/n.
