Descrizione:Ethyl nipecotate is an enantiopure cholinergic drug that has been shown to have antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in the treatment of infectious diseases, especially those caused by bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Bacillus anthracis, and in the treatment of coronary heart disease. The mechanism of action for this drug is not fully understood, however it has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity. This inhibition leads to a decrease in inflammation and pain at the site of injury.
