2-Ethoxyethyl)amine oxalate is a primary amine that reacts with other compounds to form reaction products. It is used as a solvent for organic solvents and in the production of other chemicals. 2-Ethoxyethyl)amine oxalate reacts with ethanolamine or ammonia to form ethoxylated or amidated derivatives, respectively. Amine oxalate has been shown to be an effective brain imaging agent, due to its ability to bind to nitrogen atoms in the brain. It also shows promise as a perfusion agent for animal studies, due to its ability to cleave bonds during high concentrations.
