Descrizione

Escin Ib is a bioactive extract from the bark of the European mistletoe plant. It has been shown to have a beneficial effect on the body's formation of polymorphonuclear leucocytes and its reaction to an enzyme solution. Escin Ib also inhibits enzymes in mitochondria, including oxidative phosphorylation, which are involved in cellular energy production. The extract has inhibitory effects on 5-ht2 receptors, cytosolic Ca2+, and estradiol benzoate. Structural analysis has revealed that escin ib has a phase transition temperature of around 6°C and can combine with other preparations such as estradiol benzoate. Experimental models have shown that escin ib protects against oxidative injury by reducing lipid peroxidation and inhibiting DNA damage.
