Descrizione:Ethylene sulfide is a colorless gas that is soluble in most organic solvents. It has the chemical formula H2S and the molecular weight of 26.04 g/mol. Ethylene sulfide is an irreversible inhibitor of cytochrome P450, which prevents the metabolism of other drugs in the body. The hydroxyl group on ethylene sulfide interacts with the hydrogen atoms on carbon disulphide to form a hydrogen bond, while the sulfide ion forms a covalent bond with one of the hydrogens on carbon disulfide. This irreversible inhibition prevents metabolism by cytochrome P450 enzymes and can lead to drug toxicity if not taken with appropriate dosage adjustments.
