Descrizione:2-Ethyl-1-butanol is a colorless, viscous liquid with an odor of ether. It is soluble in water, alcohols and glycerol. This chemical has a boiling point of 114°C and a molecular weight of 98.18 g/mol. 2-Ethyl-1-butanol is used as a solvent in pharmaceutical preparations, as well as in wastewater treatment due to its ability to remove organic impurities such as fatty acids, hydrogen sulfide and phenols. 2-Ethyl-1-butanol can also be used to create laminates and polymer films that are resistant to heat and water. The ester hydrochloride form of this chemical has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex.
