Descrizione:Ethyl altropate is a phenyl derivative that is an amide of ethyl and propyl. It has an ethyl ester and a carboxylic acid methyl ester, which are functional groups. Ethyl altropate's chloride substituent is activated by metal ions, such as sodium ions. It is also used to make organic compounds with alkylaminocarbonyl groups. This compound can be made by refluxing ethyl acetoacetate with ammonia or methylamine in the presence of a strong base, such as sodium hydroxide. The reaction can be irreversible if too much base is added, and it may not work at all if too little base is used. The biological properties of this compound are currently unknown.
