Descrizione:3-Epiglochidiol is a plant-derived triterpenoid saponin that has potent antitumor activity. It inhibits the growth of tumor xenografts by inducing apoptosis. 3-Epiglochidiol induces apoptosis by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins necessary for the cell cycle, including cyclin D1 and Bcl-2. 3-Epiglochidiol also inhibits tumor growth, as shown through its inhibitory effect on cancer cells in culture and in animal models. This natural compound can be found in maytenus bark extract and other plants with anticancer activity.
