Descrizione:Esomeprazole magnesium is a proton-pump inhibitor that is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger–Ellison syndrome, and other conditions. Esomeprazole magnesium binds to the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the stomach and inhibits acid production. It also decreases the release of histamine from cells in the stomach lining, thereby decreasing gastric acid secretion. This drug has been shown to be effective for treating Helicobacter pylori infections and reducing the risk of ulcers associated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with hepatic impairment or those taking omeprazole. The efficacy of esomeprazole magnesium can be measured by its concentration-time curve, which can be determined through blood sampling.
