• Descrizione: Ethyl L-tosyllactate is a reagent that is used in organic synthesis. It reacts with alcohols, pyridines, and sulfonates to form alkyl bromides and esters. Ethyl L-tosyllactate is also used as a buffering agent in the preparation of metal complexes. The tert-butyl group is removed by oxidation to produce the corresponding alcohol, which can be further oxidized to an aldehyde or ketone. The nature of this reagent makes it suitable for use at various temperatures, ranging from -20°C to 100°C.
