4-Ethynyltriphenylamine is a fluorescent probe that is used for supramolecular and electrochemical investigations. It has a redox potential of -0.25 V and fluoresces in the visible range. 4-Ethynyltriphenylamine can be used as an electron acceptor in metathesis reactions. The molecule has been shown to have optical properties of a fluorophore and as an electron donor for electrochemical studies.
