• Descrizione: Ethyl ferulate is a natural compound found in plants. It is the ethyl ester of ferulic acid. Ferulic acid has potent antioxidant properties and also inhibits polymerases, which are enzymes that catalyze the formation of DNA chains during DNA replication. Ethyl ferulate can be used as an antibacterial agent because it has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis. This inhibition is achieved through the inhibition of RNA polymerase and ribosomal protein S2, both of which are necessary for protein synthesis.
