Fluorene-9-acetic acid is a natural compound that inhibits the activity of amine oxidases. It has been shown to have a broad spectrum of inhibitory activities against various enzymes, including acetylcholinesterase, tyrosinase, and prostaglandin synthase. Fluorene-9-acetic acid is also used as an analog for fluorene-9-carboxylic acid in biological studies.
Fluorene-9-acetic acid can be detected by liquid chromatography methods such as phase liquid chromatography with detection at 254 nm and kinetic energy. The sample preparation involves dissolution in trifluoroacetic acid followed by addition of sodium borate buffer solution and hydrogen peroxide.
