Fluroxypyr is a herbicide that inhibits photosynthetic activity by inhibiting the activity of chlorophyll. It is used in the management of weeds and specific treatment of chronic exposure to herbicides. Fluroxypyr has been shown to have an effect on protein synthesis in model organisms, including rats, mice, and zebrafish. The optimum concentration for Fluroxypyr to inhibit protein synthesis is 0.2 ug/mL. This drug has been shown to be effective at concentrations ranging from 0.1 ug/mL to 10 ug/mL in urine samples taken from diabetic patients who have terminal residues of Fluroxypyr as a result of chronic exposure.
