Descrizione:Filorexant is a drug that binds to the 5-HT2A receptor, which is one of the serotonin receptors in the brain. The 5-HT2A receptor is found in high concentrations in a number of areas of the brain, including the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. Filorexant has been shown to reduce locomotor activity and improve sleep quality, as well as alleviate diabetic neuropathy and other symptoms associated with chronic pain. It does not have an affinity for other serotonin receptors and does not inhibit acetylcholine release or bind to muscarinic receptors. Filorexant has good pharmacokinetic properties, with a half-life of about 22 hours.
