Informazioni sul prodotto
1-(2-Furylmethyl)piperazine (1FP) is a furan that is metabolized to the bioisosteric 1-benzylpiperazine (1BP). The biosynthesis of 1FP, including the metabolic reactions and the enzymes involved in these reactions, has been studied in detail. 1FP efficiently inhibits cellular profiles with high affinity for benzylpiperazine (BZP). It also exhibits low toxicity in cells and animals. Toxicity profiling studies have shown that 1FP is less toxic than BZP. One of the main metabolites of 1FP is piperonyl, which has been shown to be more toxic than its parent compound.
