Descrizione:Fmoc-Ile-OH is a cyclic peptide that has shown cytotoxic activity against cultured human brain cells. It is also an inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV) and inhibits the breakdown of proteins in the brain, such as insulin. Fmoc-Ile-OH binds to the active site of DPP-IV and prevents it from binding to its substrate, thereby inhibiting the enzyme's activity. The inhibition of DPP-IV leads to increased levels of protein in the brain, which may be beneficial for people with Alzheimer's disease. Fmoc-Ile-OH is synthesized on a solid phase by coupling an amino acid with a protected carboxylic acid to yield a protected amide. This product can be used as an encapsulating agent for atosiban, a drug that is used to treat preterm labor.END>>
