Descrizione

Fluazifop-butyl is a herbicide that inhibits the enzyme 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSP) in plants. It binds to the active site of EPSP and prevents the formation of 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate (EPSP). This inhibition leads to a shortage of acetyl coenzyme A, which is an important precursor for fatty acid synthesis, and causes a decrease in the production of lipids. Fluazifop-butyl has been shown to cause genotoxic effects in experimental animals. It also affects ATP levels in blood cells and can lead to physiological effects such as lethargy and loss of appetite. Fluazifop-butyl is toxicological safe for humans when used at its recommended dose, but large doses can lead to toxicity.
